I picked up the Los Angeles Business Journal today and what did I see on the front cover? Nic Adler, manager and co-owner of the historic Roxy Music Theatre in an interview with the LA Biz Journal. I recommend you click the link below and read the whole article and get a feel for for the energies and circumstances that are actively shaping what we know of as the modern day Sunset Strip, a place we all love.

Adler discusses the interesting predicament of running a venue with such a rich musical and cultural history, while still pushing to innovate and take chances to keep competitive in the Los Angeles nightlife scene.

the Roxy's past is so intermingled with popular music, live music, music industry and "the scene" that as I read I couldnt help but think of how today's bands, especially local ones are factoring into this equation. We all know the stories (some of you were there) of the sold out guns and roses and motley crue shows and the energy (and revenue) of that past time and place. but we all know that that time is gone, and attention needs to be on the future- Theres definitely still great music (and working bands) happening all over the strip and with guys like Nic actively engaged in moving his club forward the resurgence is already underway. SSMF 2011 anyone?
